We are changing the way of travel. Anyone and anywhere can create or complete quests through the Urban Quest mobile app.

Urban Quest has no limits! For creating a quest you could use absolutely any city, route or theme - depends on the imagination of the creator. Our main goal is to make quests more fascinating!

To become our author, just send us an email at urban@quest.team indicating the city the topic of your quest.

To create a quest, you need:

1. Tell us about your quest, idea and a plot.
2. Sign an agreement with aspects of the creation and payment procedure.
3. Read all materials for authors that we sent and create a quest.

When you are creating a quest, you should initially check that the quest is private, so that you can then make adjustments, if any are required.

Any quest can be edited in the application and in the web interface before publication. After publication, only private quests can be edited. That's why we strongly recommend to publish the quest in private mode, and only after you are certain that everything is correct, send the quest to the moderation team.

A public quest is available for all users, and a private quest is only for those to whom you send the link. Also, public quests are moderated, and only after that they become available in the application. We recommend creating a private quest first, and then, after you and your friends go through it and make sure that the quest does not contain errors, make it public.

Yes you can. And that’s exactly what we advise you to do before publishing a public quest. This will help to avoid mistakes, because you will have the opportunity to check the quest yourself and send it to friends for testing.

When you writing a quest, a nice addition is to assign a theme to the quest. For example, to make a quest on behalf of the Van Gogh about his favorite places in Arles or to tell about the magical land of Harry Potter, immersing players in the atmosphere of this work.

Think of a riddle in any style you like: logical, associative, encryption.

• Make a riddle that the player will have to think about in order to get an answer, and not just ask directly for a specific fact.
• Search for a hidden place with geolocation check.
• Search in a specific place for a QR code with verification of its image. Think about exactly where and how to put a hidden inscription or a QR code so that the search process is interesting for the player.

To make a quest even more exciting, you need to think not only about a plot, but also come up with interesting riddles. To make your job a bit easier we wrote a few articles about a riddle creation:

A QR code is automatically generated during task creation. After that, it will need to be displayed in some way in an accessible place for the players: it can be a printed sheet of paper with a code, or it can be an image of a code on a digital medium. For example, one of our authors hid a QR code in a picture.

It depends on the amount of quests in a queue. The moderation process looks like this: the quest is sent for review, after which the moderators make comments and corrections within two weeks. Then the author corrects the mistakes and sent quest for review again. The moderators, in turn, review these corrections for two weeks and decide whether the quest is ready. Moderators are trying to help make quests more interesting and exciting, feel free to send them your quests, they will be happy :)

We sign a contract, where we indicate your quest price. After publishing the quest we send you the fixed price + bonus for a plot, riddles and a route. 

Dear author, thanks to your incredible work, we already have more than 100 quests in our application!
And we decided that it was time to monetize the application and go to the next level. As we promised, we are changing the payment program for quests, and start paying interest on purchases (and not on quests). We are developing a store where you can still create and publish quests, but now you will have your own page where you can sell and advertise yourself and your quests.

So far, this applies only to quests in Moscow, but in the future the program will expand and cover other regions.

Fixed Payment for the first 100 quests:

≈10 tasks + 10 narratives = €55

Plus we pay extra:

+ for an interesting Plot = up to €65
+ for an unusual Route = up to €50

+ for a non-standard Riddles = up to €50
+ for Translation of the quest into one of the popular languages = €35

+ 30% from the purchase of each quest
+ 5% from each published quest of the author that you brought

We sign a contract with the authors, where we prescribe the deadlines for the quest and the amount of payment. The contract can be signed for an indefinite period, taking into account the fact that the author will send a list of further quests and undertakes to write them, otherwise the contract is concluded only for the transfer of one quest.

Firstly, the web has a viewing function and you can see how tasks on the phone screen will look like.

Secondly, you need to make the quest private, publish it and go through without sending it to the review. In this case, if you find inaccuracies in the created quest, you can easily correct inaccuracies in the application or web interface.

It's very simple: you just need to publish your quest as a public one.

The quest may be rejected for various reasons, and we indicate these reasons in the letter. If these are just technical flaws, then go through the quest again, fix all the mistakes, and send again for review. If you do not agree with the opinion of the moderator - write or call us, we are always happy to talk!

It all depends on how quickly you solve all the riddles. Usually it takes an hour or an hour and a half.

You do not need to worry about this, if you can not guess the riddle, you can always refer to the hints.

In our application there are no restrictions on the number of players, the main thing is how comfortable it will be for you to complete the quest from one phone.

Our authors have been trying to create quests with locations as close as possible to each other, but sometimes walking paths may not exist or may be inconvenient, so in the beginning of the Quest author may indicate that you need to use transport, such as the metro or bus.

We are always happy to see little travelers playing in Urban Quest. The main thing is to carefully look at the description of the quest. If at the beginning of the quest there is no age limit, then any child can take part in that game.
